Night Before the Light

in a life of many loves

she was the one

winds whistled

rains poured

as she lit the fire

that calmed my soul

in a life of many loves

there was only one

when I stood like a rock

she moved me

when I shook all over

she soothed me

moments were memories

etched (if they could be)

in BOLD

the meaning untold

in a whirl

of passing thoughts

warming where

there once was cold

in a life

of love

she still stands

there

tall

wonderous

memory of love

from long ago past

I know and knew then

that as toes touched

under the table

at a Blues cafe

an electric invitation

so personal

so profound

lighting fireworks

that still fire

in my sky

Guilt

Guilt is the price we pay willingly for doing what we are going to do anyway - Isabelle Holland

Guilt is anger directed at ourselves - Peter McWilliams

The guilty one is not the one who commits the sin but the one who causes the darkness - Victor Hugo

Guilt is absent when the act is justified - Anonymous

Guilt is always jealous - John Ray

It is the confession, not the priest who gives us absolution - Oscar Wilde

Fear is the tax that conscience pays to guilt - Anonymous

Henry Ford

There are no big problems, just a lot of little problems

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't-- you're right

Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently

When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off
against the wind, not with it

Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs

One of the greatest discoveries a person makes, one of the great surprises, is to find they can do
what they were afraid they couldn't do

Albert Einstein

Imagination is more important than knowledge

Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character

I never think of the future, it comes soon enough

Anyone who has never made a mistake, has never tried anything new

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity and I'm not sure about the universe

Anger dwells only in the bosoms of fools

Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one learned in school

I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist

Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

It was the experience of mystery, even mixed with fear, that engendered religion

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.

The important thing is not to stop questioning

Once we accept our limits we go beyond them

Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile

Strive not to be a success but to be of Value

The only reason for time is so everything doesn't happen at once

The only source of knowledge is experience

The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination

There are 2 ways to live: You can live as if nothing is a miracle or as if everything is a miracle

You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war

When you are courting a nice girl, an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder
a second seems like an hour. That's relativity.

Elizabeth Gilbert

God dwells within you, as you

The inability to open up to Hope is what blocks trust, blocked trust is the reason for blighted dreams

To lose balance sometimes for love is part of living a balanced life

I want God to play in my bloodstream, the way sunlight amuses itself on the water

People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life
